How to Flesh Out Your Novel Idea & Get Started
Service Description
HOLIDAY PRICE SLASH! Was $249, now $199! The biggest question beginning writers face is often, “I have an idea, but where do I start?” Writing a novel regardless of genre or target age demo is more than just an idea. It’s about building a plot, fleshing out your characters and making them real, layering in subplots, and weaving it all together, making sure to pull at all threads at once. In this workshop, we’ll start at the beginning with your idea, fleshing it out and workshopping it until it’s solid. Then we’ll work on building out your characters, their wants and needs, how they interact with each other and the world you wish to create. We’ll use writing exercises to get you used to writing in your character’s voice. We’ll hone in on plot-character connection to drive your outline forward. We’ll work on elevator pitches so that you can succinctly describe your idea, and at the end of the course, a literary agent will sit in and offer their advice and insight on your idea, pitch, characters, and plot.
